In the 1970s, the concept was born under the guidance of Nottinghamshire County Council Playing Fields Officer Peter Dury. Peter’s department maintained all the school playing fields across Nottinghamshire. Faced with a decline in the number of trained grounds staff and the reduction in playing field stock, something needed to be done to allow cricket to continue at schools.

Notts Sport was proud to host the 6th charity cricket day in memory of the late Jack Patrick in collaboration with Help for Heroes, a charity supporting wounded veterans and their families.

The event, held on Friday, the 30th of July, honoured the memory of Jack Patrick, a passionate cricket enthusiast and keen supporter of Help for Heroes.

Notts Sport is thrilled to announce the completion of the extension and revitalisation of the existing sports pitch at Longdean School in Hemel Hempstead. With a commitment to providing the highest quality facilities for its students, Longdean School has invested in state-of-the-art upgrades to enhance the sports experience and promote a healthy and active lifestyle for its students.

Welland Park Academy in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, has undergone an impressive renovation with the resurfacing of its existing synthetic turf pitch. The project, designed by Notts Sport and constructed by Cleveland Land Services, included the installation of a new surface by Lano, the S-Tec Integration Xperience.

We are delighted to have supplied the UK’s first 100% electric maintenance machine as part of the resurfacing project at Welland Park Academy, Leicestershire. The machine, which can run for approximately 5 hours following a 3.5-hour charge using a 3-pin plug, is the first of its kind supplied in the UK to maintain an artificial sports facility.

Jack was a huge supporter of Help for Heroes, and since his passing in 2015, Shaun and Emma have led the march to raise money for the charity. So far, the Patrick family and Notts Sport have arranged events that have raised over £160,000, and we don’t want to stop helping!

Notts Sport is delighted to announce the ongoing partnership with England Hockey as Official Facilities Partner. Notts Sport is the leading specialist in the design, advice, and supply of synthetic surfacing systems for sport, play, and leisure and has completed 147 pitches to clubs and schools around the UK since the beginning of the partnership. The renewed partnership comes ten years after first partnering with England & GB Hockey and will run until 2026.

Brooke Priory, an independent prep school based in the heart of Rutland, contacted Notts Sport in September 2022 following a recommendation from Oakham School, wishing to improve its sports facilities, replacing an underused garden within the school grounds.

Cranborne Primary School, in Hertfordshire, were in need of a new artificial sports facility to replace their existing turf pitch which had ongoing issues with drainage that meant it couldn’t be used after bad weather. They were looking for a facility that could be used all year round but also with the opportunity to generate an income via community lettings.

Just North of Finland's capital, in the suburbs of Helsinki, lies a recently renovated children's play park, Leikkipuisto Lampi. Completely renovated in 2020, the park has a giant pirate ship, a wading pool, a trampoline, swings, and more.

Leading sports facility designers, Notts Sport, have helped transform an underused & decrepit macadam area at Shooters Hill 6th Form College, London, into two fantastic sustainable cutting-edge non-infill football pitches, the first installation of its type in the United Kingdom.
