CASE STUDY: SIGHTHILL, GLASGOW
Sighthill Regeneration Welcomes Innovative Play Areas by Notts Sport.
Glasgow City Council appointed Notts Sport to design and supply state-of-the-art play spaces at the ongoing £250m regeneration at Sighthill, Glasgow.
This endeavour aims to revitalise the area, providing improved connections across the M8 to the nearby city centre, building new homes, a school, and large outdoor spaces designed by Notts Sport, a renowned leader in innovative play area solutions.
The newly completed play areas feature modern design elements, using various colours of VHAF NottsSward, ensuring safety and durability for children and families to enjoy for years. Using the Notts Sport ChildsPlay systems, Glasgow City Council could rest assured the areas were vandal-proof, long-lasting, and, most importantly, retained the critical fall height under each piece of equipment. The systems range from ChildsPlay Recreation up to ChildsPlay 300, offering critical fall height protection of up to 3.0 metres. Notts Sport's expertise in creating dynamic and inclusive play areas offers diverse and stimulating opportunities for recreation and social interaction.
Introducing these modern playgrounds aligns perfectly with their commitment to building a vibrant, accessible community space that promotes well-being and encourages a sense of belonging for all residents.
"We are excited to contribute our expertise in creating engaging play areas that cater to the needs of Sighthill residents," commented Shaun Patrick, Chairman of Notts Sport. "We believe in the power of play to inspire, unite, and enrich communities, and we're proud to be part of Sighthill's regeneration journey."
The installation of the Sighthill play areas was completed and opened earlier this year.
