Case Study: Royal Ascot Cricket Club, surrey

We recently completed a new triple-lane cricket net facility at Royal Ascot Cricket Club. It was designed to provide players with wider resources to enhance their performance and strengthen. The nets, designed by Notts Sport with Notts Sport Cricket South, Slatter Cricket & Play, ensuring the highest quality of installation.

Royal Ascot Cricket Club, a prestigious club in Berkshire, enjoys a unique location within the perimeter of the Royal Ascot Racecourse, protected as a designated wildlife heritage site. In 1883, Her Majesty Queen Victoria permitted the formation of a cricket club with the agreement that fees had to be moderate to allow everyone to play.

The club's commitment to providing exceptional facilities for its members led them to turn to Notts Sport for a solution that would meet the practical and aesthetic needs of their growing community of players.

When Royal Ascot Cricket Club approached Notts Sport Cricket South, Slatter Cricket & Play, they aimed to expand their facility to meet current demands and serve the club's growing popularity.

When the final design was agreed upon, the next step was an installation, which Notts Sport Cricket South, Slatter Cricket & Play, expertly completed—their years of experience installing cricket facilities ensured that the nets were delivered to the highest standard.

The ball pitch areas were replaced with new NottsBase System to raise pace and bounce, restore consistency and prevent stone layers from mixing. New shock pads were installed and covered with a two-tone green/blue surface to the entire area. White training lines were included on two of the three lanes. The cage & netting were extended, and the side was also extended for additional safety. A removable backstop net was installed behind the bowler's end to protect fielders when the nets were used in games but allowing full run-ups for evening nets.

With the club's plan to expand coaching opportunities to members, the new facility has already started to help make a significant impact; the club can now accommodate more players during training sessions, improving access to practice and increasing participation in coaching programs.

"We are thrilled to have worked with Royal Ascot Cricket Club on this fantastic project in such an iconic setting," said Alex Bennett, Notts Sport Cricket South. "We are confident that these new facilities will greatly benefit the club and its members, enhancing training opportunities and player development."

Royal Ascot Cricket Club's new cricket nets represent the club's commitment to player development and training facilities. Through its partnership with Notts Sport Cricket South, the club has secured a facility that will serve as a valuable resource for years.
