The Jack Patrick Memorial Cup 2025
On Friday, 13 June 2025, Notts Sport was proud to host once again the Jack Patrick Memorial Cricket Day at Lutterworth Cricket Club—an event close to our hearts and one that continues to grow in strength and generosity each year. Held in memory of Jack Patrick, this special day brought the community together to raise vital funds for Help for Heroes, supporting veterans and their families across the UK.
The event kicked off at 11:00 am and ran late into the evening, with an incredible turnout from families, supporters, and local cricket fans. Teams made up of players from Notts Sport, Help for Heroes, Lutterworth Cricket Club, and Jack's friends delivered a full day of cricket, camaraderie, and celebration. With Jack's Friends Team taking home the trophy.
As hosts, we were delighted to see the ground buzzing with activity beyond the boundary ropes too: live music courtesy of Lutterworth College and top local band Wildstar, a DJ, food stalls from the ever-amazing Wood Pizza Oven and first-timers and extremely popular Eat Greek, children's games, tombola, raffle, a silent auction and spectacular weather helped create a festival-like atmosphere that truly captured the community spirit Jack inspired and raising a staggering £10,000.
This year's event was especially significant, as it followed the incredible effort by our Chairman and Jack's parents, Shaun and Emma Patrick, who completed The Leicestershire Round —a 100-mile walk around Leicestershire in the five days leading up to the cricket day. Steve and Nicola Goodall organised and completed this epic challenge; their adventures can be read here: Walking Route – Walked The Leicestershire Round. The walk was not only a personal tribute to Jack but also a major contributor to our fundraising total.
"Jack would have loved this," said Shaun. "Jack was passionate about cricket and always had a deep respect for our Armed Forces. Hosting this day in his name and seeing the support year after year is truly humbling. We are so proud to work with Help for Heroes and continue Jack's legacy in a way that makes a real difference."
Together with the Patrick family and our wider Notts Sport team, we've now helped raise over £200,000 for Help for Heroes since the first event in Jack's honour. Every pound raised helps fund vital physical recovery, mental health services, employment support, and community reintegration programmes for those who have served.
We're incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, donated, or supported in any way. We have a massive list of 'thank yous' following. All raffle and auction winners have been contacted privately.
This day is about more than cricket—it's about community, remembrance, and resilience.
